Original 1971 German poster of the film Le Mans with Steve McQueen. Released in 1971, it retraces the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours race from which most of the plans came.

Le Mans is a film written by Harry Kleiner and produced by Jack N. Reddish and directed by Lee H. Katzin, with original music by Michel Legrand.

Steve McQueen has invested a lot in this film, which he considers the masterpiece of his career. The main part of the film is shot during the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours, and the actor himself drives on the circuit to complete the shots.

The German poster is based on the design of the French Ferraci poster: a photo of Steve McQueen's face is superimposed on an image of the famous car race. The difference is mainly in the addition of the black frame and the location of the title, here below in red characters.
