Original Belgian poster from the film Roman Holidays, directed in 1953 by William Wyler, with Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck and Eddie Albert.

Roman Holidays (Roman Holiday) is Audrey Hepburn's first major role, and possibly the film that made the whole world fall in love with the actress. The screenplay tells the story of the enchantment of a princess in the streets of Rome, who, subjected to stifling protocol enjoys a moment of escape with a journalist who hides his job from him.

Directed in 1953 by William Wyler, the romantic comedy about the impossible love between a princess and a journalist won no less than three Oscars out of ten nominations. It also owes its success to its black-and-white shooting, surprising at a time when Technicolor was booming.
