Original poster created by Clément Hurel for the film Breathless by Jean-Luc Godart released in 1960, model B

Breathless is a pastiche of the film noir, a slap in the face to Hollywood conventions: written by his friend François Truffaut, freely inspired by a news item, this first feature film by Jean-Luc Godard makes the effect of an aesthetic bomb in French cinema. Shot in natural light, camera on the shoulder, documentary aspect... the Nouvelle Vague is being born.

Clément Hurel's original poster design incorporates the film's logo and makes reference to the final scene. We recognize Jean-Paul Belmondo and his disjointed puppet-like appearance in an escape that will be his last, under the cornered gaze of Jean Seberg.

"There's the cinema before Godard and the cinema after Godard. Breathless is the masterpiece that launched Godard's career and changed the face of cinema." François Truffaut
