Original Poster Morocco Land of Great Tourism by R. Génicot circa 1950

This original poster of the Moroccan Tourist Office designed around 1950 by R. Génicot promotes travel to Morocco, known as the "Land of Great Tourism".

Very modern, it represents a stylized landscape with flat tones of red and orange enhanced with touches of black.

In the foreground are silhouettes of men in traditional Moroccan dress, on paths or crossing a bridge with their animals. At the back, one guesses the "Road of a thousand Kasbahs", which runs through the 230 kilometres between Ouarzazate and Goulmima on the edge of valleys and palm groves.

The mention "Rabat-Paris" evokes the Moroccan capital, its hills, and its famous kasbah of the Oudayas, the historic heart of the city and its citadel and treasure of Berber architecture.
