Original tourism poster promoting the city of Cannes on the French Riviera, designed by Lucien Peri in 1938 for the French railway company PLM.

Lucien Peri took his first steps at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1910. After 1920, he distinguished himself every year at the exhibitions of this society and in 1935 he was awarded the gold medal of the Salon. A landscape painter and adept at fieldwork, Lucien Peri is distinguished by his technical skill, although his works are often characterized by an unfinished aspect and great speed of execution.

For the PLM railways, the artist Lucien Péri, particularly famous for his illustrations on Corsica, delivered his vision of the Bay of Cannes in 1938. We find his trademark: the long trees in the foreground that bring perspective to the landscape.
