Original poster designed by Martin Peikert in 1958 to promote tourism in St. Moritz les Bains.

St. Moritz is one of the oldest winter sports resorts in the world, famous for its 322 days of sunshine a year. It has hosted the Olympic Winter Games twice, in 1928 and 1948. Since 1864, St. Moritz has been attracting "high society" with its numerous palaces, spa resorts, casino and polo on the frozen lake.

This original poster by Martin Peikert is part of his extensive work in the tourism field. Indeed, the Swiss poster artist is particularly outstanding in his work for the regions of Graubünden, the Bernese and Vaud Alps, and the Valais. His wit and humour make him one of the major international artists in the field of winter sports posters, and several of his works are references in a genre where originality is difficult to find.

The composition is reminiscent of the poster designed in 1931 by Léo Keck, where the sun of St. Moritz (which is also the oldest tourist emblem in the world still in use) rises in the heart of a gentian flower.
